B’more Auger
The title “B’more” references Baltimore, where the auger element was sourced, and reflects the way many locals pronounce the city’s name. The sculpture acknowledges both the object’s geographic origin and the vernacular character of the place from which it came.
Like many of Van Alstine’s works, it incorporates repurposed industrial material, transforming a utilitarian tool into a sculptural form where function gives way to rhythm, balance, and visual tension.
