Sisyphean Circle – Homage to Lewis Hine (2007) pays tribute to photographer Lewis W. Hine and his iconic image Powerhouse Mechanic (1920). The sculpture echoes the photograph’s powerful circular composition and the physical relationship between the worker and industrial machinery. Beyond this visual connection, the work honors Hine’s celebration of the dignity, strength, and perseverance of working people—qualities that resonate with my broader interpretation of the Sisyphean myth.
